Mac mini m2 Kernel Panic & Keep Restarting

Hi,

My mac mini m2 keeps restarting all of sudden.

  • It firstly restarts after it goes to sleep
  • then I disable the auto sleep but it still restarts after running for a while though the time it takes is random. the screen will become purple and do a restart
  • I tried to reinstall the system and it still restarts even I didn't install anything yet
  • I have the crash report and etreCheck report below

Thanks for any insights!

ANS2 is Apple NAND Storage version 2 which is referencing the SSD. Most SSD failures are detected either when first powering on the device/SSD or waking from sleep.

Try disconnecting all external devices from the computer just in case one of them is causing a problem. If you still have the issue, then you likely have a hardware issue of some sort with the Logic Board.

I guess you could try a DFU Firmware Restore to reset the security enclave chip, system firmware, and internal SSD.....it will also push a clean copy of macOS onto the internal SSD. Unfortunately you will need access to another Mac running macOS 15.x Sequoia in order to perform the DFU Firmware Restore. If the problem still exists, then you definitely have a hardware issue.

It looks like one of your external devices is causing a problem.

Unfortunately this is going to require some time consuming testing on your part.

First disconnect the external WD SSD and test.

If that doesn't help, then disconnect your other external devices one at a time and test.

If removing those other devices does not solve the problem..?

Then the next stop is to look at the LG HDR WQHD display and how it is connected to the Mac mini.

I was using CalDigit dock to connect the mac mini and the monitor before. And I plug-in and out the cable quite often to switch between the mac mini and the work mac.

Now I disconnected the CalDigit and directly connect to the monitor using HDMI and the keyboard using USB. it seems working fine for the past 12 hours.

will report back if it becomes stable after a week.
