Workaround for iMovie bug in new iOS update for school assignment

Is there a work around for the bug in iMovie on the new IOS update? I can’t complete my school assignment without the work around. I got it to work just fine with videos for p.e. So why wont it work with photos? It used to!!! Please help a girl out!

Hi,

The workaround is to insert a video anywhere in the time line. Could be as as short as 3 seconds.
