New blue symbol appearing on iPad after iPadOS 18.3.1 update

There is a new blue symbol .. (sort of like something is syncing) to the left of my wireless signal on top right of my iPad (10th generation). It has 18.3.1 IOS. I’ve never seen this before this morning. I’ve read on this forum others having it and contacting Apple support but nothing seems to be determined. I’m concerned that it just suddenly appeared. Please help. Suzette
