Problem syncing music from iTunes to iPhone

My iTunes has multiple playlists of albums and songs I have added, from my cd's. The last few days, when syncing the iPhone to computer it has deleted the songs that are not purchased from iTunes, but the playlist names are still there. I do not use the cloud setting to keep music. Any thoughts?

Why are my iTunes songs grayed out on my iPhone? I use iTunes to create playlists and have several. I worked on these over time for years. I began syncing my iPhone (15 Pro Max) and soon discovered that, not only were many songs not brought over to my phone, but it was actually also removing songs from my playlists on iTunes. Infuriating. So, after working on getting those back up, I no longer use sync. I am now manually adding songs into newly created playlists on my phone that match iTunes. Now, I'm seeing that, in some cases, nearly an entire playlist is grayed out and will not play. The songs are also not showing on my phone. In many cases, these are songs I actually purchased from the iTunes store. Also, a huge number of songs that were ripped from CDs are not showing. I DO NOT subscribe or have Apple Music. I do not want it. This was never a problem before its inception. I understand the "matching" thing, but I am not an Apple Music customer, so why in the world would it not recognize song files that are on the phone? These files exist and should be able to be played. Apologies if this is an issue that has already been addressed, but every "solution" I have found mentions Apple Music and to ensure I'm subscribed and signed-in. No and no, because I don't want it or need it. Also, I do not use the iCloud, but am open to the possibility some settings are conflicting. BUT, again, no thread I've been able to find here or elsewhere seems to talk about my exact problem. I will add that I am using a very old HP desktop PC currently for iTunes. Still have Windows 10. I have a hard time believing this is the issue since it has never been before, but what do I know? I just want the songs that I OWN to play on my device. songs on my iphone but not on itunes on my pc I recently purchased a couple of songs from the iTunes store and when I was syncing them onto my iPhone (13 Mini) I noticed something odd. While I have something like 3000 songs on my phone, my iTunes library on my pc (running Windows 11) has only about 300 songs. I cannot recall the last time I checked, but in the past all 3000 or so of the songs currently on my phone were in my iTunes library on my pc. Now they have disappeared. Checking further, I see that there is nothing on the pc's iTunes library from before 2021 (including CDs I'd put on there and songs and albums I'd purchased from the iTunes store). I thought this was weird, but figured that I could just sync from my iPhone back to the pc, but that did not happen, as the sync was only for the few songs left on my pc. My phone is updated to the latest IOS (just updated today), and my pc is also up to date on iTunes. I am pretty sure this issue is recent, as I can clearly recall seeing some of the songs now missing in my iTunes library on my pc in June when I got my new iPhone (I previously had a 2020 iPhone SE). At this point I don't want to try to sync the phone and pc until I see what suggestions you have, as I would not like to lose the songs I have on my phone.
