Dictionary not working in Pages with the right click.

I used to right click at words in Pages to access dictionary definitions (using the shortcut 3-finger click), but since a few latest updates, this function is bugged (and it's been like this for so long already). If the words are in a list or number, the right click will take the bullet point or number instead of the first letter of the words, thus cannot select the words for dictionary. Please help fix this.

The assumption here is that you have configured the Apple Dictionary app Settings to include selected individual dictionaries in the order you want the Look up results displayed. If you have not done this, then I would expect the result that you have shown. See Dictionary User Guide for Mac - Apple Support

There are three ways to trigger a word lookup from the Apple Dictionary:

  • Select the word and two-finger tap or right-click and choose Lookup "dogmatic"
  • Place your pointer over the word and press control+cmd+D
  • Place your pointer over the word and apply the three-finger tap (if Look up & data detectors enabled in Trackpad settings)

Tested: Pages v14.3, macOS Sequoia v15.3.1.
