running IOS 18.3.1
printing single invoice.
Single sided printing - Fast Blurry, intermittent & unreadable.
Double sided (same image)
Slow, clear and perfectly readable.
Any help greatly appreciated

That is almost certainly a printer problem.
What model printer? And have you checked to see if there is a firmware update for it?
Does this happen with all documents, or one specific document?
It’s printer issue. Get your wireless printer installed again through printer app
Sorry, but you didn’t say Canon; just a model number. Did you check for a firmware update for the printer.
Just printed a Doublesided document from my iPhone on Two sided monochrome (long side)
It came out perfectly.
copied and printed one side of that document - perfect.
It seems only when printing from the phone as a single document, that the machine prints very fast and the output is Blurry / intermittent and unreadable for the most part.
Make sure your on the same WiFi network as the printer and that it is on.
About AirPrint - Apple Support
I thought that, but need help to fix it myself if possible.
Most likely cost the same to get fixed as a new one !!!

Checked my Firmware.
its 1.090 and up to date.
That sounds like a connectivity problem, then; it’s losing data.
Do you have VPN installed on your iPhone, whether it is enabled or not?

Have VPN but not turned on.
have a later submission- perfect using Double Sided print selection
problem is using Single Sided
Delete the VPN profile.
