How do I authorise Apple Books on a new MacBook?

I’m trying to read a book on my new MacBook and it’s not giving me the option to authorise my Mac I’ve tried everything I’ve found on google help

How do I automatically download new Apple Books to Mac that I purchased on other Apple devices I have a MB pro 2021 and when I try to select the check box in the Mac Books App for "download new purchases automatically," The box unchecks itself. Does anyone know why this is and how I can fix it? I've signed out and back into the Books App. I've re-authorized the already-authorized MacBook. I've checked system settings / My Apple ID (at the top) and then iCloud / iCloud Drive. Books is listed and already checked marked. When I check settings / privacy & security, Books is not listed under "files and folders." I added it as an approved app, and still the above-mentioned checkbox will not stay checked. I'd like for my Mac to automatically download books I buy from Apple. If anyone has suggestions, I'm all eyes.

Can Not Authorize MacBook Trying to read my books on my MacBook but it says it’s not authorized. It’s not listed in authorized computers and I have clicked deauthorize all and restarted my MacBook. There’s no Authorize button
