Sirius XM app stops playing on iPhone when screen turns off

After replacing my IPhone 13 to 16 the SiriusXM app would stop playing after one or two songs. Nothing I did helped. I saw I conversation on here that I couldn’t reply to so I’m posting this.

Every suggestion in comments in that post did nothing, so I thought maybe it’s something in the App Store. Lo and behold I found out that my app (SXM) that I had on my phone wasn’t even available anymore. So I looked further and the new app is bluish block with a white S that has a star shaped into it.

since installing and using same user name and password I’ve had zero issue on phone or CarPlay.

If you read my thread thoroughly, you’ll see the problem is fixed. Old app on old phone was outdated and no longer available for my new iPhone. Downloaded new app and problem fixed.

i had no idea a new app was available.
