when playing a sirius xm station on my iPhone 15 (IOS 17.5.1): play stops when the lock screen is activated from the side-button or the auto-lock timer. It has worked just fine hundreds of time in past on this iPhone and prior ones. I have rebooted the iPhone; also, deleted, then reinstalled, the sirius xm app - but problem still occurs.

Nothing going on at Apple over the last few days as far as I can tell, but hundreds of companies, airlines, banks, etc have been affected by a massive issue at CrowdStrike / Microsoft.

This seems to be an issue with SeriusXM and their developers not adopting an API from Apple to allow audio through a locked device. This usually means SeriusXM is now only offering this feature to a higher plan tier, or the developers are currently working on the app and this feature has been removed for a while.
I have had my SiriusXM subscription for 15 years, I'm at the highest level subscription. I believe it's the new iOS causing the issue because about 2-3 weeks ago I started having this issue. It's so annoying. I want to lock my phone and put music of news on in the background.
Having the same issue with Sirius today as well. Switching screens puts the music on mute. Same with thru car play, I just leave Sirius open for it to continue. Something has definitely changed from Apple or Sirius within the last few days
