Why can't I rewind podcast episodes using the progress bar on my iPad?

Since at least 2012 One thing Apple reliably got right was that we could look at the progress bar and easily see if we should rewind 30 seconds or a minute. If we missed a part we could slide the little dot on the progress bar back to where we thought it might be. Why in God‘s name would they take this operation away? Or is it a glitch? It’s absolutely infuriating. I stuck with them through the other violence they did to the podcast app, but I don’t know if I can handle this one.
