What is going on with iTunes?

Hello there!

I just wanted to share some thoughts and see if other people think the same way as I do.

As professional DJ since 12 years, I have always use iTunes when it comes to organise my music library.

Since the last 3 to 4 updates of the MAC OS, iTunes has become worst then worst when it comes to search and organisation. As an exemple: CMD+L was ment to go directly to the song that was playing in the library. Now, it's go to an "album" and I can't rename my track into that menu. Before, I could at least click to times on the "song" button menu which was sending me to the song that was currently playing... not anymore. This is super annoying for a professional like me who's spending a lot of time of organizing and renaming songs in a library. Even before, when the CMD+L was sending me to the currently playing song, the selected song was appearing in the bottom most positions of the screen which is absolutely not ergonomic for the eye. It can sound picky but trust me, when you're spending hours doing that, it becomes absolutely annoying.

Another thing, in the "recently added" menu, you can't change the way you see your song. They just appear in album format as supposed to a song list.

Again, it's sound picky but, in a regular basis it's becoming hard to work fast with just simple details like that.

What you guys think about it? Thanks for reading!

Cheers!

N3,

My impression is that CMD-L takes you back to the playlist (or full library) from which the play was initiated, and uses the view of that playlist. If you have your library and all playlists set for View > As Songs, I believe CMD-L will behave the way you want.

Regarding the "recently added" playlist, I blv you are referring to the pre-canned playlist. It is designed (inexplicably) with no view options. However, you can easily make your own recently added smart playlist -- it only takes one rule -- and use that instead of the pre-canned one. Set it for Songs view.
