I am having the same issue with my Canon WiFi printer. I have followed your suggestions, updated the firmware etc. etc.
Interestingly, my old MacBook and my wife’s iPad running a version of OS 16 can both print to the machine. Neither my iPad or iPhone both running OS 18.3.1 will print. They both see the printer and the job shows in the Print Center as in process but the data processing light on the printer never lights up indicating that is preparing to print. I typically get a window asking if I want to try again or cancel the job.
Any further suggestions are appreciated.
Did you try everything in the Top Ranking Reply at the top of this page?
Thank you so much. I’ve been struggling for days. This is a great fix. Appreciate all this information.

Great, I’m glad it’s resolved.
I was typing a response when the Apple web page jumped dumping all I had typed. Ridiculous.
