Why does my Plantronics Voyager Focus bluetooth headset keep disconnecting from iPhone?

I use a Poly/Plantronics Voyager Focus headset with my iPhone when I am working from home.

The issue when connected to the iPhone is that when it is at idle it constantly disconnects and connects.

I tried firmware updates for the headset, resetting the phone, etc.

When I connect the headset to a non-iOS device (android phone, windows laptop, etc) it works perfectly.


Is iOS dropping bluetooth during periods of the headset being idle perhaps for power saving reasons?

It's very annoying when you are in between calls you constantly get "phone disconnected" and "phone connected" messages.
