Why has Apple Maps changed the Gulf of Mexico, which it’s been know as since 1550, to the Gulf of America?
Why is Apple Maps preventing this from being reported as “incorrect name”?

Apple Maps reflects naming conventions of the user’s region. As such, users in the United States no longer see Gulf of Mexico as the USGS official name has changed. Users elsewhere see Gulf of Mexico.
