Apple ID not saved to passwords

I changed my Apple ID password yesterday (after waiting an hour, even though I was at work) and was told that it was saved… now I try log in on another of my devices (close by) and have been asked for my password, which is nowhere to be found! Without having to go through the process again, how can I solve this, please??

iPad, iOS 10

That does not make sense.

Is this your opinion or fact ?

Just because the Apple device has allowed us access via face or fingerprint recognition does not mean we know or have directly used the Apple account password to gain access.

If factual then it’s a strange conflict as Apple tells us it’s not safe to store passwords anywhere else other than the password app.

This situation needs fixing urgently.
