Why is Apple Music not authorizing on my Mac Pro?

Hi there,

I have been trying to authorize my 2013 mac pro running big sur for days in apple music. It keeps telling me "There was a temporary problem completing your request. Try again later". I am trying to download music which requires an authorization. Can you help?

I'm no expert in Macs but I do have some experience! (10 years)

Q.

How many other Apple devices do you own? (you dont need to answer this in public)

I believe you can authorise upto 5 devices for use, last time I looked it was 5.

Possibly you already have 5 devices in authorisation? Maybe you have an older Mac or devices you dont use somewhere? If so you can de-authorise it so you can use the authorisation for your current Mac.

Hoping my reply helps you.

Mark.

Hi, sorry for delay in replying, I recommend you contact Apple support about this.

I remember I once accidentally de-authorized my iPhone and tried to reauthorise it, turned out all I had to do was restart the phone and try again.

Often with computers, a simple reboot can be a great help. It helped with my iPhone but I'm unsure if it would work this way on a Mac. I contact Apple support for things I dont understand.

Sorry I wasnt able to help more positively, Mark.
