Wake With Bluetooth / Mouse

I went to look at something on my MacMini , when I tapped the space bar

( or any other keys) it wouldn't wake up . I have a wireless mouse & keyboard working with Bluetooth , the mouse wouldn't wake it either .

The white numbered keys are lit up ~ are they supposed to be ? The green light on the mouse goes on and the monitor's blue light in the lower right corner is on .

The Mac was updated 2 or 3 days ago , I'm having difficulty determining if I screwed up the Mac somehow , if it's a Bluetooth issue or the mouse needs its batteries changed ?

Try the settings exactly as shown below (reboot after changing), might fix.

Also, do not manual Sleep, shut for long absences and let the display switch off on timer during normal use:

(or use Control-Command-Q to immediately lock your screen).

I don't believe that I have used wired accessories since the Mountain Lion & Snow Leopard days ! I'm going to change the batteries & hope that it wakes up ~ if it

doesn't , I will head over to Apple Support for Mac .

Definitely charge the batteries. My work computer behaves all sorts of odd when the batteries in the keyboard run low.

I would recommend keeping a cheap wired keyboard and mouse around for emergencies.

I am procrastinating about work today so, this is what I do to be "productive!" ;-)

🖱️I have it narrowed to the mouse . I turned the hard drive off then on and the screen woke up but the mouse isn't performing . I did change the batteries on both the keyboard & mouse .

How else can I troubleshoot without being able to navigate with the mouse ?
