"Side button in iPhone XR stopped working post iOS 18.3 update: My xr side button stopped working then started working again now with the software update 18.3 it stopped working again I tried all the YouTube fixes and nothing works"

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of you occurrences, if you don't report it to them.

1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
3. Comment: that this all began after installing an update. Include the URL of this thread
4. Proceed from there as necessary

Try a forced restart, but if it doesn't help, you may have a hardware issue with your phone, which you should take to your Apple Store Genius Bar for evaluation and options --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support (CA)

Then it's time to schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar service options as you most likely have a hardware issue with the side button. That's not something anyone here can help you with.
