Notification sound issues on my iPhone after iOS 18.3 update

Same. Observed since iOS 18.3 that a notification bar will appear on the phone, but is totally blank, or the phone will chime with a notification, but nothing appears on the screen. When unlocked, no app indicates any notification or you have to track down which app it was, so annoying and frustrating not knowing why you were just notified. Rebooting the phone does not resolve either issue. iPhone 15 Pro.

I do not get the error, and am not aware of any fixes. If this seems to be catching on, then the question becomes: "Just how many people have reported this to Apple?"

Report this to Apple:

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of this, if you don't report it to them.

1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
3. Comment: that this all began after installing an update. Include the URL of this thread.
4. Proceed from there as necessary

If you think iOS 18.3 added these chimes on all iPhone 16 Pro Max then all the devices that were updated with that iOS version would have it, isn't it?

I’m having the opposite problem iPhone 13 and since the 18.3 update I am not getting any notifications for any non Apple apps I’ve tried turning on and off notifications for every app restarted the phone several times and still nothing I have missed many important message and emails because of this glitch

I figured out a temporary fix. For me, only one contact was affected by this (I wasn't receiving sound notifications despite them having the default text tone). Changing their tone to a completely different one seemed to solve it. Wish they would fix this bug though.

I had the same problem after this update. After going through all my notification settings, I narrowed it down to the Ring app. I think this update turned on motion sensing notifications that I had silenced. Once I shut those down for each of my cameras, the incessant notifications stopped. Hope this helps.
