Bluetooth earphones and voice notes problem

When using an earphone with a built-in mic (whether wired or Bluetooth), iOS typically defaults to using that mic for all audio input, including Siri and dictation. This can sometimes cause issues with dictation in the Messages app or other apps because:

1. Mic Quality and Sensitivity: The microphone on some earphones (especially Bluetooth ones) may not be as sensitive as the built-in iPhone mic, leading to poor recognition accuracy during dictation.
2. Background Noise Filtering: Some Bluetooth earphones aggressively filter background noise, which can interfere with dictation accuracy.
3. Bluetooth Latency: Bluetooth microphones may introduce a slight delay, which can cause lag or misinterpretation in real-time dictation.

Workarounds:

• Turn off Bluetooth: Disabling Bluetooth forces the iPhone to use its internal microphone, improving dictation accuracy.
• Disconnect the Earphones Temporarily: If wired, unplugging them will switch back to the built-in mic.
• Manually Type the Message: If dictation isn't working well, typing may be the more reliable option.

Limitations:

• iOS does not currently allow choosing a different microphone for dictation while keeping the earphones active for listening.
• This issue is particularly noticeable with Bluetooth earphones since they override the built-in mic.
