Why does my iPod Classic 5th Gen skip the last minute of certain songs?

I like old tech so I recently bought an iPod off of a known Irish reseller and I've been using it for a few weeks now

I have noticed that when listening to (only a certain few) songs, they tend to skip the last minute of the song but play everything else before it just fine! I originally thought the MP3s I used were weird or something but when i checked it on my laptop, they worked just fine?

I don't know why it would be like this, I've seen people say to convert them to 224kbps AAC, did that, no dice

Any thoughts?
