Pages: Unable to permanently delete text box

I accidentally did a copy and paste of a text image. I pressed undo. I then tried to paste a hypertext link in my document. It placed the text in an image box. No matter what I tried to copy and paste, the text was placed in an image box. I exited Pages. Reentered Pages. The problem was still there. Every new document I tried to create, kept putting copy and paste materials in image boxes. I have experimented with this glitch. I opened up old documents. I did a copy of text from one old document and tried to paste it into another old document. The paste still went into an image box. It seems as if Pages is has some sort of “memory” of an old paste text into an image box and is repeating that action any time I to use paste function.
