iTunes 12.13.4.4 quit recognizing my iPhone in windows 11 after updating

I plugged my iPhone 11 into my PC this morning by USB connection and started up iTunes for a routine backup of the phone. First thing iTunes updated phone to IOS 18.3, whereupon my phone was no longer recognized by iTunes. I did all the usual stuff-- restarted both devices, swapped cables, opened and closed software. Nothing helps. My PC beeps when connecting and disconnecting the phone, Windows explorer "sees" the phone, and the "Apple Devices" app fully accesses the phone. So, I suspect IOS 18.3 is the culprit.

Hints, tips? Thanks.

Well, it DID work to uninstall Apple Devices. But that wasn't sufficient. I also had to uninstall and reinstall iTunes in order for it to recognize my phone. IMPORTANT TIP: when you reinstall iTunes, be sure to download and install the same, or later, version of iTunes which you just uninstalled. Otherwise, it won't recognize the itl file and won't automatically incorporate your accumulated music, downloads, etc. If you do get the latest version, however, all your stuff should show up right there after the reinstall.
