I recently upgraded from an iPhone 13 to iPhone 16 pro. The 13 had 90% battery life. The new iPhone 16 pro has really poor battery life, almost comparative to the 13. I was expecting a lot better. Today for example, I’ve had 58 minutes screen time and it’s down to 71% battery. I’ve done all of the tips but it’s hardly made any change. I’m really disappointed - any ideas?

Breakdown the usage of the battery bars in the settings by clicking on the graph and showing the activity for the last 24hrs and 10days. It will give you insight to what is using the battery. If its new you're going to have background activity.
Settings > Battery > Battery Health

It's way too early to get any sense of how the battery is really performing. Post back in 2-3 months.
In the meantime......if you are prepared to hear that the battery is doing just fine......make an appointment at the Apple Store or take the phone to an authorized Apple service shop.

Some general guidelines:
At 50 Charge Cycles, the Maximum Capacity should be in the 98-99% range
At 100 Charge Cycles, the Maximum Capacity should be in the 97-98% range
Personally, I ignore any Charge Limit settings and enable Optimized Battery Charging on the battery. Connect the power adapter to the phone at night and leave it connected all night.....every night.
But.....some users swear by setting a Charge Limit of 80% for example. But, most users are not aware that the battery will still charge to 100% occasionally. Apple won't tell us how often "occasionally" might be. It was about 3-4 times a month when tried Charge Limits and decided it was more of a gimmick than anything else.

100% battery life, 4 charge cycles. It’s 10 days old.
I’ve never had this issue before with any other iPhone - surely the battery should be best out of the box? 2-3 months will degrade the battery surely?
