"Learn spelling" feature removed from Pages?

Suddenly one of the most basic and useful proofreading functions has seemingly disappeared. Pages will red-underline any word it believes to be a misspelling. Up to now, one could "teach" the spellchecker a new word (e.g. an unusual last name) by taking these simple steps: Check spelling in Pages on iPad - Apple Support


Now, that's been replaced by whiz-bang features no one asked for. Listen Apple, some of us still use our computers to write things. Give us back the basics.

In Pages v14.3 on Sequoia v15.3 without Apple Intelligence activated, I have entered a word (antichoke) in Pages with Check Spelling While Typing selected. The word immediately was unknown and received the red underscore. When I right-clicked on that spelling error, the usual secondary menu items of Ignore Spelling and Learn Spelling were present.


That seems to refute your observation about lacking the ability to Learn (aka teach) Pages about misspellings.
