I already purchased 2 different cameras that said they were compatible with the Mac mini but had to return them, because they were not. Which camera do you recommend to purchase to work with the new 2023 Mac mini? And btw, I will only use it casually for FaceTime or WhatsApp. It is not for work so I really don’t want to spend more than $50. :) thanks!

I have a Logitech C270.
It's dirt cheap but provides a good clear image and good sound.
It is only 720p but that is perfect for a webcam and the image quality is better than many more expensive 1080p cameras. Remember pixels are not an indication of quality. It's the lens that can make or marr a camera.
In fact I was so pleased with it that I bought another!
It has no bells or whistles . . . no gimmicks . . . it just does what it's meant to do - well!

I bought the "Papalook 2k/1080P webcam with light and the second one was: "onn" webcam with light. both are USB-C. I chatted and also did tech support w/apple and they said that they're both compatible with the older mac mini models but not the new ones. Thanks!

What USB-C to USB-A adapter did you use...?
FWIW you may need to budget a little more than $50 to get a decent Webcam.
