Bluetooth headphones no longer working in LogicPro for iPad

i normally use an interface (UA Volt 476) to work in LogicPro for iPad, but over the past 2 years, have been using a pair of Austrian Audio Bluetooth headphones (Hi-X25BT) to edit projects while I’m traveling and can’t bring along my interface. It’s been a few months since I’ve needed to use them to work, but last night, when trying to listen to any and all of my prior projects via these headphones, I’m no longer able to and there is no option for them listed in the output settings. Looking here i saw two other people inquiring about this but no response from anyone in the community or from Apple developers…rather frustrating to now pay a subscription to an app and no longer receive support or have features pulled from an otherwise worthy product…

so my questions are: is Apple aware of this and working on a fix or are we forced to float here in limboland without a solution or an answer?

First off, you are miles ahead using a wired set of headphones. Bluetooth and music fidelity are mutually exclusive, as Bluetooth is lossy and slow. Sure, there are high fidelity CODECs, but you need them at both ends of the connection.

Secondly, this would guarantee your connectivity from the Mac.

Hi Pete,

thanks for your input, but it seems that you missed the mark of my comments and questions…using this setup is a travel workaround, not my main setup, and it worked months ago and now no longer works…

I’m well aware that BT isn’t a perfect technology and am not using it for critical mixing, only editing…while traveling.

also, my OP is regarding Logic Pro for iPad, not Mac….

I think my post stands regardless - if you want guaranteed connectivity, use wired cans - Apple won't get in the way. If you have other issues with Bluetooth, I submit that is outside of a Logic issue.

Pete,

my question and comment is only regarding Logic Pro for iPad…I already use wired cans for important work…and using BT headphones work fine in every other app on my iPad, and worked perfectly prior to the latest update, so I’m trying to determine WHAT changed in LogicPro for iPad or iOS to prevent them from showing up in LP i/o settings, not have a debate.

there are other people that have had a similar experience and are coming here to discuss the reason and hopefully bring it to Apple’s attention so it can be resolved in a future update.
