Unable to power on MacBook Pro after Sequoia 15.3 update

Last night I updated to Sequoia 15.3 on my 2020 Intel Mac Book Pro and now the machine won't get any power. Cord was fine and I have tried 2 cords. While I still I had battery power I tried every method of reset - Pram, SMC etc. Nothing. So no power, dead battery and dead computer with no way to get power any more due to the update!!! It also took a lot of effort to even start up after the update. It had a blank screen for the longest time and went through a bunch of failed starts until it finally came on.

I tried safe boot when it had battery power but that didn't change anything it still wasn't getting power. It's now dead with no power and no battery left so I can't do anything.

The update caused it. I had a perfectly working computer before that.

Do you know if the firmware option works with no power to the broken computer. I will try it anyway when I get access to another computer. We have no local Apple store - I am in The Bahamas.
