Just brought a new 2023 MacBook Pro 14" M2 Max home, and I can not power it up. What am I missing? I have done all the standard troubleshooting, since I have been a QA/IT for 25 years. I am hoping it is something simple I am missing.

Open up the box, plugged in the power supply and pressed on the power, nothing. Pressed and held for 10 seconds, nothing. Moved to a different outlet, nothing.

The light on the MagSafe have always been set under program control... by the computer. if your computer completely discharged in transit, it may have halted. There is no System Management Controller (SMC) in the M-series, they use a low power processor running slowly to do that work.

So it it completely discharged, it needs to build up some charge before it can get going again.

If it is still dead in the morning after a reset, it is D.O.A. If you bought DIRECT from Apple, not through a Reseller, you can have free 14-days from receipt full-value return or exchange in the same Country as purchase, from any Apple-owned outlet.
