Unable to download TikTok in my iPhone

Congress passed a law making it illegal for anybody to distribute the TikTok app in the U.S. – over concerns that TikTok could be providing data about U.S. users to a foreign adversary (the Chinese government).

Apple and Google are complying with the law and have removed the TikTok app from their respective app stores.

Unless TikTok and its owners satisfy the divestiture provisions of the law, or Congress passes a new law repealing the ban, it will remain illegal for anyone to help TikTok distribute their app in the U.S. TikTok has, so far, shown no inclination to satisfy the provisions of current law, and Congress, so far, has not passed a law to repeal the ban.

If TikTok is banned in the USA, internet service providers (ISPs) in the country may block access to TikTok's servers as part of compliance with the ban. This means that even if you have the TikTok app installed or access the website, the app or site may not function because the connection to TikTok's servers would be restricted by the ISP.

In such a case, regardless of your device or Apple ID, the TikTok service itself would not be accessible while using an internet connection provided by U.S.-based ISPs.

Check the country of your Apple ID?

If TikTok were banned in the USA, users with an Apple ID associated with the USA would likely be unable to download or update the TikTok app through the App Store. Additionally, access to TikTok’s services might be restricted by U.S.-based internet service providers or through server blocks by TikTok itself to comply with the ban. However, users who already have the app installed could potentially continue using it unless the app becomes entirely non-functional due to server-side restrictions.
