Congress passed a law that made it illegal for anyone to distribute the TikTok app in the U.S. There are very heavy, potentially ruinous, fines for any company that breaks the law. Both Apple and Google have pulled the TikTok app from their respective app stores.

It will continue to be illegal for Apple and Google to distribute the TikTok app until:

• The law's divestiture requirements are satisfied
• Congress passes another law to repeal the first one

Neither of these conditions have been met.

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

The TikTok app has returned to the App Store.

Feel free to go to any other phone you want. And you'll find the same scenario on every phone from every manufacturer in the US. It's against the law to provide the TikTok app, plain and simple.

Not until the company which owns it shows Congress that they're taking steps to divest from the Chinese government.

As of January 21, 2025, TikTok remains unavailable on the Apple App Store for U.S. users, despite President Trump's executive order delaying the enforcement of the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act (PAFACA) for 75 days.

The executive order has provided temporary reprieve, but legal uncertainties and potential fines continue to prevent TikTok's reinstatement on App Store.

Go ahead it won’t make a difference it would be a move it’s not just apple it’s all cell phone manufacturers in the us your only option is move to another country and eather buy a new phone or use your iPhone and download it there and then move back to the United States it would be a very costly thing to do just for tic toc
