Accidental screenshots from volume buttons on iPhone XR

Wondering why Apple doesn’t move some buttons so that when I try to increase/decrease volume on my phone I don’t take an accidental screenshot?

since buttons oppose, it’s tough to do without pressing both sides. Anyone have a way to shut this off? Have an iPhone XR but assume they’re all the same. It’s annoying and screenshots take up previous memory.
