Turning off my iPhone and accidentally taking a picture
how do I deactivate the volume button from taking a picture when I hit the off button

- I suspect you took a screenshot: Quickly press and release the Side button and the Volume Up button simultaneously.
- To power off your phone: Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.
If you released the buttons too quickly as is detailed in the #1 above, you take a screenshot. To power off, you need to press hold both buttons at the same time until the slider to power off appears.
