Ever since I got a new Mac Studio M2 & BenQ SW272Q display a few weeks ago, I noticed that when I awaken it from Sleep mode the icons for only 3 external drives move from their original position on the screen. I never experienced this before. Although this hasn't thrust me into a state of clinical depression, I am nevertheless rather curious. I would appreciate your ideas. Thank you.

tbirdvet: Today I needed to restart my Mac. Although I had followed your instructions to prevent the icons from moving, after the restart the external hard drive icons moved again. I reconfirmed that "snap to grid" had previously been selected. Any thoughts? Thank you.
Common issue. Right click on home screen and pick sort by "none". Then move your icons to where you want. Then back to sort by and select "grid" You may have to change the grid scale to get the icons exactly where you want them. Also most recommend to not use sleep as it causes all kinds of issues. Just have the display turn off after a pre determined time.

Yes. Also in energy pane be sure to turn on "prevent auto sleeping when display is off"
I had to keep adjusting the grid size before all would stay put. A little tricky.
