Can't share my location on iPhone 15

I’ve recently switched phones (iPhone 13 to iPhone 15) so that means I switched my old number onto my phone. Everything else works fine, I receive messages, FaceTime calls etc but people aren’t able to share their location with me. A notification comes up that says “this number is not associated with an iPhone”. I’ve verified my number and added it to my Apple ID but they still receive that notification. How can this be fixed?
