I just reached 4,000 points thus I am now level 5. The community still shows me as level 4. The hosts should be notified of this bug.

Don’t forget to follow up with users who ask for username changes in posts here and here.
Here’s a tip:
When you help someone with a username change, you can add the post to your Reading List for follow up to see if the change happened.
I made a request years ago and no one did a follow up, so I had to make the request myself.

Yup, you just have to wait until the system catches up. Users have sometimes had to wait a couple of days until the forum updated their standing. That much time is rare, but a few hours or more is very common.

Thank you so much Smilin-Brian. This has been such an amazing journey. I did try to time Level 5 on my birthday today. I won’t forget when I first met you at 36 points, you were the first community member I met, and you were a great mentor!
Just looked it up. Level 5 users can indeed post user tips. It's just a matter of waiting until the forum software finishes updating your status.
I am planning on writing a new user-tip very soon. 🔜
PRO TIP:
You get unlimited edits.
This is important because you will have the ability to update your content as often as you need.
Don’t see it.I think I have to give it some time to update. When I reached level 4, the subscriptions tab didn’t show up for a bit.

It’s been updated now, thank you Kurt Lang. I have always remembered you by your excellent malware user tip!
It should be near the top right of center of any page:
If you don't see it, then I would have to guess you need to be a Level 6 or higher user before it appears.
