Roaming switch missing on iPhone 15 Pro Max in Mexico

We are traveling in Mexico and we both have a iPhone 15 Pro Max. My husband is able to turn on his roaming feature. I on the other hand am not able to turn on that feature. I’m able to hook up through his phone as a using his hotspot but The option for me to hook up is not available. I called AT&T or carrier and we do have ability or service to Rome for free and Mexico City. The help person at AT&T suggested that I re-reboot my phone, which kind of scares me because I don’t wanna lose anything and you know you have to go to a setting. That’s what you use for forgetting a new iPhone. I’m not sure if this is my carriers problem or my iPhone I sure would love some guidance and reassurance that rebooting my iPhone to its original settings. Well, lose everything I regularly back up to iCloud.

I’m sorry but you have a misunderstanding of terms. Restarting and rebooting mean the same thing. The only thing that would delete your data would be an erase and restore back to factory settings. Then you could bring your phone back to its former condition by using your backups.

Since you have restarted your phone already and it has not cleared the issue the erase and restore may be the only option left. If you are not ready to do that then you’ll just have to live without the roaming option.

You should probably take your phone to an Apple Store or authorized Apple service provider for assistance.
