Sorry, but your iPad9 fundamentally doesn't support Apple Intelligence. The only iPad models to support Apple Intelligence are the iPad mini (with A17 Pro) or iPad Pro models with an M-series (i.e. M1 or later) CPU. In addition to the minimum CPU requirements, Apple Intelligence features require an iPad to have 8GB RAM or greater.

Your iPad 9 has an A13 Bionic chipset and only 3GB RAM.

Indeed it does. A slip on my part.

The sentence, as intended, should read "The only iPad models to support Apple Intelligence are the iPad mini (with A17 Pro) or iPad Pro/Air models with an M-series (i.e. M1 or later) CPU. In addition to the minimum CPU requirements, Apple Intelligence features require an iPad to have 8GB RAM or greater".
