Can’t Update Apps without Entering Apple Account password

Whenever I try and update one of my apps it asks me to enter the password for a family members apple account that I do not know. I don’t remember ever linking my phone to theirs and this is the only spot in my phone where their account comes up, everything else is mine. But I do not have the password or anyway to get it from them so I am unable to update any apps. Does anyone know if it’s possible to remove any link to their account entirely without having access to the password?

iPhone XR, iOS 18

Seems the app was downloaded from a different account ... perhaps it came to you via Famiiy Sharing.?

or

If there are restrictions you can change, see if Apple Support's online article (link below) can help:

(There are also family sharing tips that may help)

Else: If parental controls are in place for your safety ... you might want to talk with a parent or guardian

or ... If you do use Family Sharing talk with the family organizer, who may be able to help.

Sorry I don't know. We likely don't know enough about the situation in order to make a reliable suggestion.

Remove the app in question from your device. Get/buy a fresh copy on your ID if it is one you want to keep using. Deleting the app may delete any data associated with it. You could try offloading the app instead, in which case a fresh download via your account might reintegrate any local data, but that isn't guaranteed.
