iPhone 13 asking for a Screen Time passcode I didn’t set

There are security and other settings I can’t change on my iPhone 13 (including resetting keyboard dictionary) as it keeps asking me for a screen time pass code. I have not set one up and don’t belong to any family sharing groups. Please can anyone riddle me this asap as I worry my security may have been compromised.

Thank you

A retuned Item, Perhaps?

Have the Seller Reset it —or Just Return it:

OK. So, was it an Apple Store? Whoever it was, pop in and see if they’ll unlock it. It might have been a used device that was neither returned nor accepted as it should have been. The person returning this needs to perform as instructed here, including the iCloud logout. If they don’t, then you’re out of luck, and you never be able to change the passcode: What to do Before you Sell, Give Away, or Trade in your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

There are a whole boatload of complaints of this on there forums, as it typically happens in private sales (i.e. off of Craigslist) or at pawn shops (i.e. Goodwill).

Screen Time Passcode:

Who Has Access to your iPhone?:

Are you the only one with access to your iPhone? If not, someone may have set one up on it. Screen Time does not set this up, on its own. So, if this is a used iPhone, then contact the person(s) who set this up, and have then remove the passcode.

I do appreciate your time but I can’t reset it without knowing what’s already been set up. I have to enter the current code that’s been set up in order to change it. Only I have physical access to my phone, and I have no idea who set it up or what their account details could be. I am not part of any family group. The instructions you kindly copied therefore are the ones I found online before asking for community support as they don’t help. But thank you.

This is the exact problem. I have no idea how it could have been set up for all the reasons I have given.

It's a moot point now, if you want to gain access to your device, you'll need to wipe it to factory settings If you forgot your Screen Time passcode - Apple Support

Again screentime doesn't get set up by itself someone needs to set it up.
