Is 92% battery health normal for iPhone 13?

I bought my iPhone 13 almost 10 months ago. After 290 charge cycles, the battery health is now at 92%. Do you think this is normal? In the last two weeks, my battery has lost nearly 3% and I don't know why.

The measure of battery health deterioration/drainage is subjective and can vary depending on individual usage patterns. There is no universal standard to determine whether the battery health deterioration/drainage is normal or abnormal because it heavily relies on how the battery is used and maintained.

Try to monitor Battery usage by iPhone Activity as shown below


What is shown under battery usage? Checking that would give you an indication of the usage behavior.

  1. Background Activity
  2. Notifications
  3. Connected to Charger
  4. Or any Other

The Battery Health is going to decline on average over longer periods at about 1% for every 25 Charge Cycles.


So, 290 Charge Cycles divided by 25 + 11.6%.


100% - 11.6% = 88.4%.


If your battery is now at 92%, you are doing better than expected. You should be very pleased with the performance for your battery. I wish mine was doing as well as yours.


The battery decline is not linear or constant. The battery might go 2-3 months and not decline at all, then drop 3% the next month. My battery stayed the same for almost 4 months, then dropped 4% the following month. Things all average out over time.


The best thing that you can do for the battery is basically ignore the settings. You will drive yourself crazy if you are checking the battery numbers all the time.
