Whenever I add an album to my library, it shows as if it had been added in the year 1904

New albums I add to my library appear as if they had been added in 1904, even though their metadata is correct. Is this happening to anyone else? Is there a fix? It's a minor bug, but it's very annoying for me, considering the way I like to listen to music and use the app daily.

Edit: Restarting the app fixes the bug temporarily, but it comes back as soon as I add a new album to my library.

1 January 1904 is an epoch start date for various systems, including classic macOS, and may well have been incorporated in the iTunes and then Music codebase. A value of 0 in the date field should show a blank year, but any potential offset added to correct for time zone would result in a non-zero value, that could then display as 1904. Add the correct Year when you add a new album to the library and it won't be an issue.

My mistake, presumably the same sort of thing but affecting a different field. A zero(ish) value is being read back because a sensible value hasn't been stored. Date Added is not a field that you can edit or manipulate via a script, which makes fixing this after the fact a little tricky. What specific builds of macOS and Music are involved? You might try holding down option+cmd as you launch Music which runs some internal consistency checks and might possibly help. Otherwise you might need to await the next build and then remove and reimport the affected albums.
