Unresponsive screen on brand new 13pro max 3 months after purchase

I purchased my 13pro max(brand new) on 7th October 2024. On 28th December 2024, while scrolling on tiktok by phone screen suddenly went blank. I could hear the sound of the tiktok video I was watching but no display on the screen. I went to the shop I bought it and the dismissed me saying iPhone warranty does not cover screen damage.

Note: there is no physical damage on my phone.

Please apple, what do I do ?

Are you sure it’s “brand new” ???

That particular phone has been out of production for a couple of years.

AND if purchased “new” from an Apple-authorized reseller, it generally has a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty from your date of purchase. (some exclusions apply)

You can review the details - and exclusions - of your warranty here:

I believe that is a one year warranty if purchased from anybody, but if the reseller is not an authorized dealer then the warranty started the day the iPhone was purchased from an authorized dealer. So if I go into an Apple store today and buy an iPhone, the warranty starts today. If I then sell the iPhone to another person a month from now, the warranty is still in effect, it just says it started the day I bought it, not the day I sold it.

If indeed Apple stopped selling the iPhone 13 two years ago then you must have purchased it from a third party reseller. In which case the warranty ran its course while the iPhone was sitting in a box on the reseller's shelf and there's no warranty in effect now. The cause of the screen issue is somewhat moot now in terms of any effect upon the warranty. If this had been a brand new iPhone purchased from Apple then depending upon what Apple determined to be the issue there may have been possible coverage. To me there's a difference between screen "damage" and screen "failure". If this had a crack in it then that would be damage. Internal issues would possibly be failure.
