Why won't Apple Music recognize my iPod Touch?

Running Windows 11. Having previously synched my iPod with iTunes now that it has gone I’m completely stumped. Not only can I no longer rip music from legitimately purchased cd’s Apple Music will not recognise my iPod.

All previous answers keep referring back to iTunes which is frankly, useless. Almost at the point of ditching it for an mp3 player 😡

Uninstall Apple Music and all other Apps like TV, and Devices and go back to iTunes if you wish to continue ripping CDs. While the any of the separate Apple apps are installed iTunes is restricted. Remove them, and restart your machine to get back the full iTunes function.

Beyond that, to sync the iPod with your Windows PC, you need the Apple Devices app. The Apple Music app for Windows does not do this.
