standby on automatic does not shut off

Standby Display "Turn Display Off" off set on automatically used to work on my 14ProMax and now does not ever shut off (iOS 18.2).

Screen shuts off in StandBy mode iOS 18.1.1 despite always-on settings I have an iPhone 16 Pro running iOS 18.1.1. I recently have started using StandBy mode at night instead of a clock on my nightstand, but the screen keeps turning off. I want to have the clock up all night for easy reference. How do I make the Standby Mode display stay on all night, please? On my Standby settings screen, it says "Display: Always On: When Always On is enabled, the display will intelligently turn off when not in use." How do I make the Standby Mode display stay on all night, please? I have turned off Sleep Mode and Do Not Disturb, but the Standby Mode display still turns off after a minute or two.

Automatically means the display will shut off in a darkened room and the phone is locked. It will turn back on any time the phone senses that someone is looking at it or if it senses motion (i.e., “using” it).
