iPod 7th gen, 15.8.3, how to make podcasts play older to newer

baffled, nothing I find that supposedly tells how to do this fits the options I find on my iPod

playing newest to oldest, makes no sense at all but that is what I get, no matter what I try

help?

Podcasts on an iPod shuffle under Ventura. How do make it work. I have a new iMac 24" and a iPod shuffle. I want to load podcasts on my iPod shuffle. Using the program PODCASTS, I can set up a library, BUT how do I download podcasts onto my iPod shuffle? It worked fine in iTunes on my old iMac, but PODCASTS doesn't see the iPod even though it shows up in the Finder. Tell me the truth, Apple really doesn't want to support iPod shuffles anymore OR tell me how to make it work.

Catalina Podcast app - Duplicate Podcast episodes on iPod classic after syncing. When I sync my iPod Classic to Apple music why does it download multiple versions of the same podcast episode onto the iPod? I routinely delete old Podcast episodes on my MacBook Pro when I don't want them anymore or or have already listened etc. but I keep finding 10-20 versions of the same Podcast episode on my iPod after each fresh sync, rather than just one copy of each episode. Are there any iPod Classic and Catalina wizards out there who can give me an idea of how I can stop this happening? Any input greatly appreciated. Happy holidays and thanks. [Edited by Moderator]
