Facetime on Apple TV always says “Call Failed”

Facetime on Apple TV always says “Call Failed” when I click any contact to call them. Also I can’t move the call from iPhone to Apple TV.

Facetime works on iPhone.

Same WiFi network. Good connection.

Seriously frustrating.

FaceTime on Apple TV with TVOS 17 always ends with call failed! I have fallowed all the steps to use my iPhone 12 Pro as the camera in order to use the new FaceTime feature on Apple TV 4K with the new iOS 17 and TVOS 17. iPhone connects just fine, I see all my previous FaceTime calls from my phone and iPad in the Apple TV FaceTime app, but when I try to make a call to any of them from the Apple TV FaceTime app, the call ends with ‘call failed’ message. Is this a known issue and if so are there any workarounds or fixes. So far none of this fixes for setup issues have helped.

FaceTime on Apple TV not connecting to iPhone Current gen of ATV 4K is running tvOS 17. iPhone 13 Pro is on iOS 17. Both on same wifi, same Apple ID, reasonably close to each other. I select my phone through ATV and hit Accept on the phone. The ATV says it’s connecting. And then … nothing. Am I missing something?

TV OS 17 - Facetime not working Has anyone been able to get Facetime working on TV OS 17? I can see myself on the TV but when I try calling people their phone never rings. We are all using iOS 17 on our phones. If I do a regular Facetime call from my phone it works fine.

I had this issue and then realised I had a vpn on the iPhone I was using as the continuity camera, turned vpn off and all good. This was even though all devices on same network and signed in to same appleid account
