Contact Notes is not protected with Edit funcion in iOS 18.2

contact notes still not protected with edit, can easily be deleted or inadvertantly overwritten with jibberish

notes entered for contacts are not protected with the edit function. why not? Any note within the contact can be changed, deleted, or inadvertantly deleted. This is a longstanding oversight. using ios 18.2
