It takes pictures of ghosts or doubles. It takes pictures like this when taking pictures at night, especially when I take pictures of Christmas lights. I don't have any protective glass on the camera lens. Can you advise why it takes pictures like this? Is this a complaint?

Lenses on all cameras are different. Where one won't have flare on a given subject, the next one may. Even just tilting the camera slightly can cause one shot of a subject to have flares, and the next none - with the same camera.
It's a physical property of curved glass. It's causes refraction whether you want it or not.
It's a phenomenon known as lens flare. All cameras do it, even the top of the line DSLRs and mirror less cameras do.
What is lens flare?
If you're comparing an older phone to a newer phone, that is why you don't see the flare on one of the phones.
Newer phones have software that does more to enhance night shots. Unfortunately with the enhancing, it also produces more flare.
Well, I don't know, I don't like it. I tried another phone and it doesn't take photos like that.
Do you have protective covers over the camera lenses? Are you using the native Apple Camera app or a third party app?
