Performance issue after update on iPhone

My phone has also been performing progressively worse and worse, particularly with Safari. I tried restarting my phone several times to no avail.

SAFARI:

I cannot use Safari on my phone. It Keeps freezing or quitting. If it freezes, I am unable to quit the app unless I shut down the phone (!!). Often there is a long delay or response if I type characters (or no response). I repeatedly get "This web page was reloaded because a problem occurred", particularly if I click a link to the web from my Mail programme. I tried restarting my phone several times and am unable to delete (to reinstall) Safari.

WHATSAPP:

Quits without notice

BBC SOUNDS:

Media interrupted or stops playing completely. When I look at the app, sometimes it indicates the media is still playing but there's no sound. Sometimes the app indicates the media is not playing.

WhatsApp and BBC Sound are third party apps and you’ll need to address the issue with their support teams.

When using Safari are you on WiFi or cellular?

What iPhone model and what iOS version are you using?

Bizarrely, the issue now seems to have resolved itself (not through any updates or restarts).

They are breaking older phones like usual through updates. My 13 is almost completely useless. Camera, texting, notifications for multiple apps all broken. They want you to buy a new phone. I’m going Android.

My iPhone 13 works great. Nothing broken on mine. I have an even older Xr on 18.3 that everything works on. I guess we’re having different experiences. Maybe try making an appointment with Apple support.

Re: It doesn’t matter—both. Although after several days of this, it suddenly seems to have improved slightly on the wifi.
